Our irrigation specialist Jenna has certifications for Landscape Sprinkler System Design, Evapotranspiration, and Plant-Soil Based Relationships. We use state of the art Smart Controllers to maximize efficiency and meet your garden's individual needs. Irrigation can be included as part of a new garden project, or we can place a watering system around existing plants in your yard. Mulching is recommended along with irrigation to help conserve moisture.
Types of Irrigation
Subsurface Drip Irrigation: An intricate grid of drip tubing with emitters that slowly distribute water into the soil. The grid can be placed above or below the soil's surface to maximize efficiency.
Pros:
- Uses 30-50% less water than other types of irrigation systems
- Prevents soil erosion and nutrient runoff
- Continuous flow allows water to penetrate deep into the soil and down to the roots
- High serviciability
- Easy to modify
- Cost effective
Overhead Irrigation (Sprinklers): Sprinkler application sprays specific areas and is supplied by a series of underground pipes
Pros:
- Allows uniform distribution of water
- Easy to broadcast over large areas
- Affordable and easy to install
Microspray/Microdrip Irrigation: One of the best and most cost effective ways to irrigate small vegetable gardens and potted plants
Pros:
- Use less water and cheap to run
- Easy to install, adjust, and service
